So on my unit there’s this man who is disabled (mentally) and he sits and watches tele but staff always put kid programmes on and I’m like well why is he watching this type of stuff! Like is his mental age a lot younger than he actually is or is it the staff that are treating him like a kid.
He can’t tie laces so has velcro shoes and all his meals are blended so it’s like every meal is just piles of mush, when he eats he doesn’t take all the food off the spoon, he just puts his lips to it and takes a bit then the rest goes all over the place.
Now I can sort of understand he’s mentally ill but how much of it is actually him? If he was pushed in more of a mature way would he start acting more mature?
If a dog is abused over and over (like for them dog fights) it becomes violent and wants to attack others (humans or animals)
So just kinda got me thinking is everything we do in our day to day life a consequence of something we’ve seen or heard
